How to install DNS In Windows server 2008
Start >>> server manager >>> role >>> add role >>> DNS server >>> next >>> next >>>next >>> install
After install follow the further steps
Create zone
It has 2 type
1rst- forward lookup zone
2nd- reverse lookup zone
Create forward lookup zone
Go to start >>> administrative tool >>> DNS + (click on plus icon) and here will show your PC name and init will be forward lookup zone option and now right click on forward lookup zone >>> news zone >>> next >>> next (and here give any name but in end should .Com for example Abc.com) >>> now click on next again next and select • allow both non-secure . . . . . . . . . . . . . update >>> next >>> finish >>> refresh
Add Host
Right click and click on new host >>> give any PC's name and and that PC's IP >>> add host >>> ok >>> and refresh
Note
After add host right click on there add host >>> PC name >>> IP address >>> ✓ (check mark) >>> create PTR record and click on Ok
When you create (reverse lookup zone) in that you will have to be (add pointer) for that in forward lookup zone should be check mark on PTR record
Create Reverse lookup zone
It's created same like forward lookup go to start >>> server manager>>> + (click plus icon) role >>> +(click on plus icon) DNS >>> server >>> + (click on plus icon) PC name >>> right click on reverse lookup zone >>> new zone >>> next >>> next >>> • IP v4 >>> reverse lookup zone >>> next >>> and now give IP address in same range which is you are using like 192.168.1.10 >>> next >>> next >>> • allow both . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .upda up >>> next>>> finish
Add Pointer
Right click on there click on new pointer PTR give IP address and PC name and click on Ok >>> refresh
Note:-
1- Forward lookup zone
It's convert name into IP address
2- Reverse lookup zone
It's convert IP address into name
3- Host = (A) AAA
4- Pointer = (PTR)

4- Select Change adapter settings in the left-hand column

These instructions apply to Windows 10, 8, and 7.
1- Log in to Windows with an Administrator account. If your account doesn’t have Administrator privileges, you may not be able to adjust your DNS server settings.
2- Open the Start menu and select Control Panel.
Note for Windows 10: Simply click the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen and search for "Control Panel". It will appear at the top of the search results as the best match.
Note for Windows 8: Simply begin typing “Control panel” while viewing the Start screen. Click Control Panel in the search results to open it.
3- In the Control Panel, select Network and Internet, and then Network and Sharing Centre.
Note for Windows XP: Click "Network Connections" and then skip to step 5.
4- Select Change adapter settings in the left-hand column
5- Right-click on your active internet connection (this may be "Ethernet", "Wireless Network Connection" or "Local Area Connection" depending on how your computer is set up) and select Properties.
6- In the Networking tab, click once on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, and then click Properties.
7- Select Use the following DNS server addresses and then enter the following:
Preferred DNS server: 203.0.178.191
Alternate DNS server: 203.215.29.191
Alternate DNS server: 203.215.29.191
8- Click OK to finish
